Seats
Currently have a pair of Recaro SPG seats fitted which are long out of date. I have looked at lots of alternatives and like the Cobra Historic's , has anyone tried them ?

Re: Seats
Well I have now sat in one of these seats, or should I say wedged myself into it ! I'm a 34" waist and it was just too tight. The showroom said that they had only ever sold two sets, and that was to a Japanese man. Recaro Pole Position ABE are nice, but expensive, but guess will have to bit the bullet .

Re: Seats
It depends which competition I go for, I think that they are ok for PCGB Sprint and Hillclimb, but not for AMOC.

Re: Seats
Seats, belts and FHR's (HANS etc) need to be in date for rallying and circuit racing. Not yet for Hillclimbs and Sprints, although FHR's are compulsory from 1st Jan for non-roadgoing cars built on or after 1st Jan 1977.gridgway wrote:Can't comment on the tightness and redness, but the seats don't need to be in date for UK competition do they?

Re: Seats
Sorry! Yes, you're right Graham. I haven't been near my Blue Book since I posted.gridgway wrote:I don't think that is correct. Seats are not dated in UK MSA governed racing. There may be specific formula regs for it, but not in the msa blue book as far as I can see.
FIA regs yes.
Graham
It would be impossible to enforce in Sports racing and single seat racing cars.
Glad that you got some nice seats, tp!

Re: Seats

Here are my lovely new Cobra seats (please ignore the hacked about roll cage, the new one is going to be installed next month).
My plan is to weld two cross pieces across the seat well, and bolt the side seat mounts to them. The test fitting shows that it is going to be very difficult to fit the two bolts through the side mount on the left side of the seat because of the restricted space to get a hand/allen key down there.
Anyone share their experiences with me please ?
Cheers,
Tony.

Re: Seats

Quite pleased with the center mounted handbrake which now leaves enough room for race seats to be fitted.
