Modern code for original spec. battery anyone?

Post by camperco »

Does anyone have a new battery in their late '66 model 912?

We want a new battery to fit the original battery tray.bracket etc. Taller, wider & narrower than later cars.

A picture of the numbers on the top or side would be great please. (no we don't have the original to take to the battery shop)

Cheers!

I remember having trouble finding the right size too for my late 65, but eventually found success with an Exide 155te a457 battery.

I've had it just over 2 years and no problems at all.

Cheers

Since posting we went onto the Bosch website where all the dims are listed on a very helpful download. Selected a S4 021 45Ah battery - fits just right.
