new here with RHD 73 RS #1576

Post by Rikard »

Hi Guys

I am new here, recently bought a RHD 73 RS #1576 in the Caribbean and I am now bringing the car to where I live in the US so it can be restored.
Car is original apart from rear spoiler, seats, rear bumper, headlights, and wheels but has been sitting in a shed for more than 15 years so needs a lot of TLC. All the number are matching but the car was re sprayed a darker color purple about 20 years ago.
Car is originally lilac (Royal Purple in the UK) originally
I am originally from Europe but have been living on this side of the world for a while :-)

I heard a rumor that there are a lot of parts from 1576 to be found on this forum lol

Read a little on early911s about your purchase and sounds like a great find / story - would love to hear more and see pics.

I am sure Andy will be along in due course with information about your spoiler!

Thank you all, yes, been trying to buy this car for the last two years and they finally gave in a few weeks ago.
Car is in bad shape but has a lot of potential. Trying to post a picture on here but haven't worked out how that's done yet :-(

Hi Rikard - apologies for the lack of response on the Early S Registry (where my username is 'andyjboy') - I've been away for the past week with limited internet access.

Congratulations on the purchase of '1576' - I tried for some time to track down its owner ~ 10 years ago but, although I knew the car had gone to Trinidad, the trail went cold.

I did have the original aluminium engine lid from your car but after failing to trace the car's owner, I sold it.

I will send you a pm via this site with details of the person I sold it to - you never know, it may still be available !

It is isn't it James. Interestingly enough, if you put that reg into Russ's new found MOT search site it comes up with 'no such vehicle found'. Exported? Could it even be the RS in this thread in an earlier life?

Rikard

I am also going to send you a pm. about your car.

Regards
Mike

According to DVLA that car is currently untaxed (& has been since Oct 2012).
It is a '73 2.4 first registered in the UK on 11th Nov 2011 ...
