Drive end bearings

Post by Helen »

Took my car into Zuffhaus i expecting the worst but am very happy that they found very little wrong.
The mot had said the CV joint would need replacing but it seems it was wrong. Its the bearings.

So:
2 new drive end Bearings.
Unfortunatly it Looks like i have to buy whole new drive shafts in order to get new bearings ?

Has any one got a couple i could buy Or know where i can get from.

Wait until Kev gets back from Wales where he's fitting new ones to Toms car. He sourced the parts for him. Alternatively flick back a couple of pages in Darren's thread as he bought brand new from Porsche ££££!

Hi Helen,
Reading your descriptions: "The mot had said the CV joint would need replacing but it seems it was wrong. Its the bearings.","2 new drive end Bearings" I’m confused to which part is required.

Sounds very much like the CV to me!!! (part 23)

Below is a parts diagram of the rear axle; maybe you can find out which part they are referring to so we can be 100% sure we are talking the CV joint?

I'll get Larry to answer this later as to be totally honest i haven't got a clue.

But from my (limited)understanding, its the opposit end to the CV joint... So (i think)26 on your diagram

I just bought a brand new CV joint from Germany too

Need the car to running well as we want to do the international next year.
