912 VIN help!

Post by Mystery Machine »

Hi there,

I am trying to fill in the documentation to import my 912 and I've asked the seller for the VIN details.

He sent me this photo:

Please can anyone tell me if this is the VIN or is there another number he's supposed to send me? The car is in Canada, so I am reliant on the seller sending me information that is correct.

Any help will be appreciated.

Many thanks,

Bruce.

The top number is the Vin - shows it to be a 1968 coupé...

There should be one in the front bonnet area, as well as a plate on the slam panel
If you read this it may help, forward it to the seller, and ask him to photograph and send the details to you
Hopefully they all tie up if not.......................walk away

You should let your import agent deal with this paperwork, which is normally done when the car arrives at the docks here in the UK. The VIN must tie up with the title document and the bill of sale, it's also on the top of the dash under the dash covering, and on the bottom of the dash behind the knee roll.

Thanks for the help guys, I did think it was the VIN but just wanted to confirm it. Thanks again.

The import agent is dealing with the paperwork. He's applying for BTI which means he needs the VIN. Hence me asking... ;)

I'll be out in Canada this time next week to collect the car and move it to the docks, but I'm getting all the info I can so that Mark at Kingstown can get everything started from this side of the pond.
