Source for early dash aluminium extrusion

I'm looking for some aluminium so I can recreate (sort of) the early dash

I found these in the U.S. But
a. They are already pretty pricy for some unfinished aluminium extrusion and
b. The postage was going to be another $55 on top

I did mine in brushed stainless steel,made from some door push finger plates from a good shopfitting friend of mine, harder wearing, virtually unmarkable and indistinguishable from the aluminium type.

TBH I'm not certain what extruded means. Where is the thread on your car Thomas? Had a look but I couldn't find it in the restoration forum

Extruded is the process whereby a material is drawn through a die to form a continuous element of a constant profile.....the die is the female part of the process and gives its shape to the inner male part...it could be plastics or soft metal for example...usually aluminium

I had the exact same question. I have a thread about it on DDK somewhere. I have a 68, but couldn't be bothered with the brushed aluminum (kitchen top) look. The 69-73 stuff fits, but isn't technically correct. Apparently, Marek makes the ones that are on sale in the US. I just ordered mine directly from Marek in denmark. No probs!
