Nicked from Pistonheads....

http://youtu.be/q1wyqdzB_As

(Turns into 'non-Porsche vid. of the day' quite soon) :)

http://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-brit ... ffee/32690

"What you're looking at it is one of the many battles between the top three cars of the four-hour Nurburgring Trophy at last weekend's Oldtimer Grand Prix. The two yellow Porsche 911s ahead (an RSR and RS, respectively) are also fighting for the podium."

"Despite the Frank Stippler-piloted #240 911 Carrera RS clocking a staggering 8min 06sec full lap, the fastest of the whole race, it would eventually finish third overall. The Brits in car #238, a 911 Carrera RSR, Mark Bates and Sean McInerney would lift the trophy.

And this Ruddel Motorsport Escort RS1600, boasting "upto 250hp and only 830kg", split them down the middle, taking the second step on the overall podium and winning its own class at the same time."
Best

Matt

Nice cars. Nice roads. Bit less Jean Michel Jarre and bit more flat six?

Darren, thanks for posting. The last time I was there my brother in law drove my wife and I around most of the good spots while we got very merry, loved every minute of it.

I have ordered the book, should be nice.

I was just about to post that. I can't help but wonder how it wasn't much worst! He accelerates at a parked Lorry with cars on the other side of the road?

They were very lucky to get out of that. Totally misjudged, which part of the large stationary truck did he not see?

Luckily he hit the only vaguely stiff part of a 911 on the truck and not the door.

I thought maybe he was turning right into the car park (or whatever is out of shot to the right) with a bit of tail out. Did well not to plough the nose straight into the lorry or oncoming cars.

Wonderful video. If by, very unlikely, chance someone decided that Neil Bardsley rather than Vic Elford should of driven these cars I would begged to drive the 52 American Roadster
