Brake line from fluid reservoir

Post by shandyhaggis »

Afternoon,

if took me ages to find a new set of brake lines from the reservoir to the master cylinder, I could only every find 1 at a time, either left or right from every supper I looked at. Eventually I bought them from Stoddard. Came to fit them today and it seems Ive ordered one 914 and one 911 one... seems they only sold 1 side as well. My mistake but Im not a happy camper.

Part number should be PCG 355 061 10 and I got PCG 355 061 00. The other one PCG 355 063 10 is ok.

The 911 one fits reasonably not quite perfect as the plastic tube is too long but if I cut the plastic down a bit with a slightly longer length of brake hose to help redirect it a couple cms it will look ok.

Question is - will this be ok or not advisable?

It will be fine Andrew - it is only a gravity feed so there is no pressure on it. I made mine from scratch, and have had no issues at all - 12 years on and counting....

Thanks Wayne

Im just miffed that all I seem to do is track down parts, send them back as Ive been sent the wrong one or I order 2 of the same thing... the final insult is having paid all the duty shipping and handling charges I ordered the wrong bit.

Stoddard have a 10 day return policy... it took that long to get here. I'll bit the bullet and modify the 911 one.

Happy days

thanks again
