901 output flange problem

Post by Steve Kerti »

Hi
I have a 1966 912 in the workshop with a 901 gearbox with original Nadella output flanges, the car has been partially restored elsewhere and its been fitted with Lobro style drive shafts, the original nadellas gone.
I have a pair of Lobro flanges but these wont fit into the gearbox because of the extended shaft in the centre of the differential.
How can this be solved? will the differential need changing or do we need to find some Nadella driveshafts,or can Lobro flanges be modified?
Many thanks in advance

Steve

HI Steve

you will need out-put shafts from a 65/66 or early 67 gearbox, with the Ally plugs, seal and cir-clip to hold the plug/seal in place inside the flange , I take it the Lobro joints are the small 6 bolt, with a 6mm allen key, and not the 4 bolt and 2 dowels , has the car still got the original rear suspension arms fitted

the bolts and the washers will still fit the later (CV type) out-put flanges
