Re: 35-50 Original RHD in existence?
I have heard the number of 36 original UK RHD 912s bandied around a few times, so perhaps that is where it comes from. One would have to this unite a few went to Australia. However original Uk cars are quite scarce.
We could do our own count.
I have one, a 68.

The 912 was pretty popular in the UK. Don't take the following numbers of RHD imported into the UK as exact but they should be in the correct ballpark
1966: 105 ish
1967: 81 ish
1968: 43 ish
1969: 68 ish
Ian.

Re: 35-50 Original RHD in existence?
Ian those numbers seem much more likely to me. Seeing that I often hear that the 912 out sold the 911 two to one in 1966 so my simple mind says there must be more than 50 RHD 912

Re: 35-50 Original RHD in existence?
Unless I am reading his add incorrectly, he does says 'of c.50 RHD's left, MOT'd & TAXED'
Now if he means just that - cars left that are MOT'd and taxed' he could possibly be right. But where does he get that fact from? There is info like this on the web but how accurate is it?
It has been suggested before - a record of the remaining RHD 912s needs gathering. It would be interesting to see how many have survived.
Anyone in the 912 Forum interested?

Re: 35-50 Original RHD in existence?
In my database I have about 45 RHD listed, but not Matt's nor Paul's, or even the one on eBay. What I would need is to get the VIN and any other info the owners are willing to submit.

Re: 35-50 Original RHD in existence?
Hello all
I am new here but am just letting you know I have a 1968 RHD car in a sorry state (as bought) with date correct engine and 5 speed box. I bought the car (engine and 'box out and several boxes of bits) for my wife with a view to restoring. Some initial stripping work has been done but I am about to get properly stuck in.. I am also working out just exactly what I do and do not have. There are quite a few items that seem to have become separated from the car as well as a few later additions (someone did an RS lookalike job at some point judging by he RS front bumper & deck lid).
Looking to restore to close to original but for regular, real world use.
It is likely that I will need lots of help and advice
Cheers
Chris

Welcome that sounds like a project. I suggest you join the 912 bbs forum too. Although it mostly US based there are lots of very knowledge people happy to help. I have a 67 and used to have a 68 so let me know if I can help.

Re: 35-50 Original RHD in existence?
There are very few rhd 912's in Australia - general thought is there is less than 500 combined (911-912) delivered pre 74 to oz.
approx 65-68 150
Im aware of about 8 or 9

Re: 35-50 Original RHD in existence?
I had FGO 8C RHD 1965 in Red.. I understand it's now in Germany being restored.. we where informed FGO 8C was used at the earls court motor show one year, not seen any pictures but if it was then some one must have one for sure some where.. Anyway I have the engine for it.
