Hi, can I ask the great DDK community for a little help. This problem has occurred a few times now, and I admit I am not mechanically-minded, but it leaves me frustrated and stumped. Not using my 912 for a 5 or 6 days it won't start first time. No problem. However, after the 3 or 4th attempt, it doesn't even turn over. Just a simple 'click' from the engine bay. I leave it a few hours and it's fine. Recently had a new starter motor fitted, but I guess that this could still be the culprit.
I was all set for Stanford Hall this morning and suddenly I'm going nowhere.
Has anyone got any theories? Thanks.

Starter solenoid sticking ? I assume the battery s good

Check earth strap between chassis and gearbox.

If you are hearing a click from the engine that is the solenoid switch so assuming that the starter is ok maybe it's not earthed as KS said?

Thanks guys. The battery is fine, so solenoid could be the offender. Not sure how to actually put it right, but I know a man that does.
