Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Nick Fulljames @ Redtek got me out of a hole twice yesterday.
1st time - managed to get my mullered gearbox drain plug out
2nd time - spotted that the stud above the intermediate shaft was missing
Hoping that I properly dodged a bullet with number 2!
If you read this - top man Nick, very glad I bought the car over to you!

Dusted the SC off, not been out since November. Started first turn of the key then drove it to garage for MoT on Monday. Fingers crossed.

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Such a glorious day so decided to bunk off work this afternoon and head over to GDC Automotive to have a five minute adjustment on my gear shift.....
....there's a good 70 miles of fantastic twisty B roads between here and Gary's place which I found mostly traffic free
....
...the 5-minute adjustment took two and a half hours as Gary fixed my gear shift rod and rebuilt my shifter for good measure which was missing a few shims and had a bit play in it....potential disaster nipped in the bud!...
....made the drive back even more enjoyable!

Top man that Gary Cook

I failed to remove the big nuts on my oil lines despite trying. Then i fitted a barrel nut onto a long stud by mistake till the stud pushed my hex tool out and refuses to back off. Its been a crap afternoon for project ASS GAP

Oil lines, get the big nut as hot as you dare, then shock them with a hammer by hitting the nut on one of its flats preferable with a weight on the opposite side. Might just do the trick.74rsman wrote:I failed to remove the big nuts on my oil lines despite trying. Fitted carpets to the luggage compartment so things can be kept cleaner in there. Amazing chap at Timpsons cut a new key onto my blank from my old broken one, and it works!

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Though yesterday, took the 911 and the wife to a National Trust mansion close to Shrewsbury.
Not very remarkable except that until recently I simply couldn't be bothered to drive it.
The Rennshifter has changed all that, now great to drive, 240 bhp/1000kg with big lung's 3.2 and a 2 in/ 3 out open pipe silencer...
Suddenly the car is very usable, a classic to be enjoyed rather than endured.
Mojo is returning fast.
