Mid age swede intro.

Post by 9:59 »

Hi, has now registred to this forum.
Since mid 80´s i have my eyes and thoughts on this marque.

The start was in an 1972 eleven ess that i drove for a few miles.

Decided to get rid of my Corvette and try this german cars.
In -88 i was in Palma Mallorca and saw an 911 convertible in an special color combo that at the time liked.
Back home i decided to try my luck and ordered one, brand new 930 convertible.
6 months later it was delivered. Took the wheels of and went to Beverly hills to chrome them.

At the end of 89 i was offered an 930 grupp b car that was raced here in sweden.
Had fun with that car for 6 years, was only 1130 kg and lots of power.

Also got an modded 930 of the first production year that had a lot of newer parts installed.

Changed the look of it to an 934 and got an Ruf btr engine.
Centerlock vintage BBS wheels.

And the came the 914.

Had two.

One Willco converted speedster body, that i bought in California and used it there for some years.
Exported it to my country and converted it to an six.
First with an 2,8 rsr mech injection twinspark Engine and 916 transmission, that was too much...
Later with an 3,2 motronic, which suited the car perfect.

The other 14 was an dashsix and sold new in sweden 1970.
Restored it totally and only changed the wheels to 16 inchers.

Then in 1992 i was offered an 964 rs lightweight to be raced in the cup series we had in -93.
Totally stock + safety cage.

The Rs is one of my favorites and kind of miss it today.

Later in 1996 i got an Rsr modded Cup-91 that i raced for some 8 years.

Has even tried the 964 Carrera 4 as an Winter ride.

And later, the silver one.

Today i am stuck with an 4 Wheel drive -88 with 7820 km on the odo.
Dont really drive it much, but can be an investment for the future.

My future will be filled with an longhood and hopefully an vintage fiberglass porsche.
Will try to be active with this forum, but i am always a good reader.......

Welcome! I think I know (knew) that 930 Turbo. If it is the same car, I was offered it for sale some years ago – no chance in heck that I could ever afford it, though! I saw it when I went to Sweden in 1995. Lasse's car? Or somebody like that?
