Could anyone please tell me the differance between weber 40IDF and a dellorto, i have been told that they are the same but just need another opinion. also what is the better carb of the two.

it is for a T1 engine with a porsche fan kit

There's little in it but from experieince I would go for Dellorto as the IDFs are more inclined to get blocked idler jets.

THay are similar in effect but different in design and no parts interchange.

Furthermore neither origina manufacturer supports them.

weber has recently been bought out of bankrupcy and a factory in Spain is in operation again.

Time will tell how good the stuff they make is..

For the time being we depend on the aftermarket and in the case of Dellorto this seems pretty well supported in UK.

I like the Dells..but both are fine if not worn out clogged or butchered..
But vastly inferior to programmable EFI..

Cheers guys I have now ordered a pair of 40 DRLAs from Stateside tuning i hope they are okay :? with my fan and CPS linkage
