The original wheel on my 78 SC is cracked and a bit scruffy. I'd like to have a go at restoring the leather before I opt to give it to someone like Jonathan Parr for recovering.
Anyone had a go at this? Is there a good kit out there?
My research suggests that, to do it properly, I will have to follow a careful process over several days, involving cleaning, leather feed, gradiated wet sanding, filling, more sanding, dying and finishing. There are certainly kits available from the US but I'm sure someone has equivalent in UK.
Cheers,
Al.
