What happened to Charles Follett?

Post by hughes73 »

Hello all.

I'd doing some research in tot eh history of my '72 T and I'm tracing back invoices to Charles Follett in 1988 - both St John's Wood and City dealerships in London. I can't seem to find any info on them existing any more. I assume they have gone out of business but I'm hoping there is a slim chance I may somehow be able to find some more info via this avenue as that's where the history goes cold on my car sadly. Has anyone tried to trace history though them? Does anyone know what happened to them?

thanks

I'm afraid that I think it's unlikely you'll have much luck in finding anything out via Follett's.

Charles Follett (the company) were associated with lots of different car franchises over the years - before Porsche they were Rolls Royce & Jensen Dealers then after their association with Porsche they sold Jaguar, Alfa Romeo, Land Rover & several other makes.

The company is still around - they have a registered address in Bell Street (just off Edgware Rd) but I don't think they have much involvement (if any) with cars these days.

Thanks Andy. It looked like they disappeared, thanks for confirming. I'm going to try a DVLA V888 to try and contact owners direct I think. Hopefully that will lead somewhere. Cheers
