Last of the parts from USA have finally arrived so started to fit them.

Bosch horn fitted;



Rear shine down light. The centre of the license plate lines through will the centre of the brake lights. Angles and hieght all adjustable so will be able to get them in the exact position.




Made up both side brackets and fitted the daytime running LED lights to work from behind the grill;



Just need to fit the side indicators and all the electrical parts are fitted

Hello,
I have been looking at the best type of bonnet stay to use because the broom is just not going to work. Spent time looking at adjustable gas struts, that would raise the bonnet when released, cool but not really period. So I have gone back to simple and used a 911RS stay which works extremely well;

Thought I should give an update. With a lot of help from my friends I am much further ahead to plan than I expected . However, every thing now stops for Christmas. Electrically progress is being made. Gauges, lights, switch have all been fitted into position. The front light switch dip/ high beam with blue light/ side lights work. The front hazards, front indicators work. Power lines all fed to the rear.
I wanted to use the day light running lights as that, but struggling to find a switch which is not the newer digital type which accommodate them. So they are currently now very bright side light.

What type of switch do you need for the day time running lights?

Its a switch which you can push to check the light works or when level is low it comes on, only it does one or the other. I think it must need an additional warning light maybe use the red oil light or similar.
Originally used a Porsche 997 light switch which had the running light option. Apparently only works with a digital style signal. Now using a golf 2002 switch (same size as 997) but normal wiring but no option for running lights to go off when side lights come on. For IVA will use as side lights but dimmed via resistor or tape over the light. After could just switch off a simple on/off switch.

As for the brake light/switch it needs to be a double pole switch, if this is what your using then you must be wiring it wrong?? Here's a diagram to show how to wire it. If it's a single pole then you need to get a new switch.

Basically you need a switched live feed to one side of the switch that will when pressed will show the bulb is working. For the other side of the switch, run a switched live feed to the brake fluid cap (which complete the circuit when low fluid is detected) and then return this to the warning light/switch. Once this is done if you press the brake fluid resovoir cap it should light up the switch in the dash and by pressing the dash switch again it should light up.

As for the daylight running lights did you buy a kit?? Or just buy the lights and wired them up yourself?? If the latter then think what you are missing is one of these little buggers. Here's a link.

Thanks Rich, understand. Yes it is a double pole switch so just need to move the wires around. Will order one up from Europarts.

It's easy to over think the little things when doing wiring l find.
Just double check the part for the daylight lights is compatable with what you need as not a lot of info on the specs of the unit.

I think IVA is maybe end of next yearish, Next steps are to add the engine bay heat shield, get the engine and transmission back in and finish off the mechanics and a million other jobs. Great to blast it around a local airfield to see what happens!
