RHD 2.4E - Why Hasn't This Sold?
Re: RHD 2.4E - Why Hasn't This Sold?
Guys,
I beg to differ on the E. I've been on the website/Pistonheads blurb and this is what they have to say:
Here at Specialist Cars of Malton we ensure our cars are the best quality cars in the country
We start off by picking the best cars for stock, of the 3 or 4 cars we get offered every day we buy only the best one or two a month.
that said, as a balanced view, the 356 they have for sale looks sublime and would fit into the one or two I'd buy each month.

Or the black-faced tups that go round and round the main breeders in ever increasing values at the Newton Stewart sales.

And a bonus prize to all those who know what a 'black-faced tup' is without resorting to Google!210bhp wrote:Or the black-faced tups that go round and round the main breeders in ever increasing values at the Newton Stewart sales.

One of the breeders Mikes referring to is one of my customers. He "purchased" a tup last year for ££££ Ks, that, shall we say, did not live up to expectationshot66 wrote:at least that black faced tup is working for his £'s

I'm sure an auction 'ring' is still illegal. Antique dealers were notorious for it.72911E wrote:da dah ......Introducing .......

What has happened here actually disproves your theory. Paul Stephens had the car for sale for many months at around £65K. Now I know that it's true that cars move between dealers, sometimes as part of an exchange, but in this case the car went to auction, SCM bid on and bought the car at, IIRC, £78K. I'm sure they could have bought it directly from PS for well under £60K, so where is the evidence of any fixing of the market? Unless you are implicating the auction house as well?roger_hudson wrote:I'm sure an auction 'ring' is still illegal. from personal experience JH at Malton may well price his cars high or even take what some see as mega turns but IMO he's far too bright to stoop to rigging /ringing on the basis being talked of
he s still got my old 993 gt2 on one of his headers ..............i don't mind having it there , he sticks by his word in my experience

I'm fairly confident Paul wouldn't collude with Specialist Cars man (John?).Nick Moss wrote:What has happened here actually disproves your theory. I wondered why PS plastered the sale price on their Facebook page : https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php? ... 6233667140 and mentioned it took ages to sell, that's an unusual thing to do. Knowing now that Specialist Cars bought it a more cynical man than me might think they were trying to scupper an onward profit...
