I do indeed know it - sometimes take the longer way home just to take in that hill and put a smile on my facemrk wrote:Had to work today...rare occurrence at weekends nowadays....but made excellent by taking the old girl the long way round....including what I fondly refer to as the 'Georges Lane Hill Climb' (Sladey will know it - on the way out of Calverton to Mapperley Top).....never fails to put a smile on my face when taken with a little 'commitment' on a quiet Sunday morning
The simple things you see are all complicated
I look pretty young but I'm just backdated yeah

I picked it up.
The Ivory White one… from Robert Barrie Ltd. Thanks to Robert and Steve for the work they put in to getting it to where it is now. Great drive home, and looking forward to a few more.

Thanks Steve.
It's not perfect, but it fits the bill. I'm planning on putting some miles on it.

Hi all newbie here.... I started my resto today
on my 68 Swb by takin out the ashtray and finding a couple of old fuel credit card receipts all crunched up from 1985....:0.
Then drove my favourite lanes round by me sitting at the wheel of the car making car noises( not actually goin anywhere...). Haven't done that for years. Lol.
Cheers Andy.

Welcome to this Box of Frogs.
Projects are very welcome, as are a zillion pics every 3 minutes of your progress!
Bog standard rebuild or a bit off the edge of a restoration?

Head says full resto. Heart says bit of a sleeper
So sleeper it is.. Nice and std looking, not quite Harrods, but more John Lewis ,with as much originality I can save as poss, with a nice s spec 180ish edge.,sat on some std lookin steels with his original hub caps dressed in r888's...
I'm a believer in cars are for drivin and this will defo get driven..

Sounds like a good plan, so i guess a 2 litre S spec or a bit bigger?
Steels will be a novelty, and a driven hard car usual on these pages!
You are in good company.
Charge the batteries in the camera

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Changed the lazy injector on my 3.2 in the tail of my 73T which was very easy and took the car for a good high/low/middle speed blatt on semi clear B roads.
Runs much better and the jerky throttle 'just' off idle has gone!
To some extent the vibs at 3K rpm have gone but still there..so will change the new Dansk silencer for my 18 year old 2 in 3 out and see if the vibs dissapear.
If they do then that silencer resonates, and have a plan to up-grade it to 2 in/3 out which should change the character/natural frequencies of the assembly.
We shall see.
Still amazed just how fast this car is when you really plant the throttle; all a bit irresponsible nowadays.

Drove from London to Dusseldorf and got on a train to Italy
Spending a week driving back via good food and wine and hopefully roads
Choice of cars was a nice problem to have but for all I love the hotrod winding this up to 8000 in aircon comfort is a LOT of fun

Hi Dan,
Thanks. No immediate plans to return the car to Irish Green just yet.
Just a fair few miles, and the French alps for the winter. We'll see how that pans out!
Just Pm'd you.
