Oil line connector size?

Post by higs356 »

Whats the spec of the oil line connectors

Im thinking of having some oil lines made up for a front cooler . 72 so not so standard location and setup.

I'm looking for the thread and width of the connectors going to/from the oil tank and those which connect to the thermostat if different .

If anyone has a thermostat at a reasonable price I'd also be interested.
Cheers

I have a thermostat and the long oil lines which go to the front cooler. The lines have a few kinks, but could be repaired or connect you new pipes to them.

I wanted to get £120 onus for it all, that’s for the thermostat and oil lines
(which need a little work).

Thanks

Hi Alan

Would you part with the Thermostat only ?

Would also save me the trip to Bournemouth as those lines are a little too risky in the post .
Cheers

Hi Hig,

The lines are still connected to the thermostat, so I want to sell them as one unit. How much is the thermostat worth on its own?

Thanks in advance

Oil line connectors

These unions are a metric fine german standard I don't remember the sizes but a good industrial hose supplier will recognise them.
The original oil lines are brass, you will be very surprised to learn that if you measure them they are nearly exactly 22mm OD. You could make a set from 22mm water pipe ? That how mine were repaired. Also any good "technical tube bender" could make you a set very cheap. I had a set done for less than £80 in St/St. They were so nice that I sold them to pay for my R rear lights!!!.

Dont forget all the stat does is open and close oil flow to the rad dependant on temp', MOCAL make dash 12 size units to do just that. The Porsche one does incorprate pressure relief and bypass though.
