Great trip planned Gary, i love the run to SPA in Sept for the 6 hour enduro. and hope to go in the 911 this year.
Current Skoda dealer cannot pull a deal together despite having 3 days to do so.
So it will have to be a white one instead from a dealer who has his act together.
They have till 11 tomorrow for the blue one!!
911 being readied for the Silverstone Classic on Sat and the Porsche infield.
FILM camera at the ready.

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Just bought the blue one...agree the white was too much for several reasons.
Saved a LOT of money too.
Get it next week, VERY pleased, they drive great as a straight all-rounder.
Can focus on the 911 now. I'm impressed how many of you drive them so far (ie reliable) such as 'international tourist' Gary!
Really hope the wife will come along with the 911 run to SPA and parking in the classic compound, and I can feel part of the 'DDK Gang' then.
Trust we will get lots of pics from you Gary about this weekend's races.
ps
Program on Nat Geographic on the Bentley Mulsane Limo was really good the other night. Very much enjoyed watching that.
Bit different to the Rover plant at Cowley in the mid 80's I used to go to (frequently..)

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Only went and snapped the engine lid release cable !!
And just as I was about to show off my engine to an admiring crowd.
Back at base a quick search on Pelican reveals I now have to remove the exhaust and drill quite big holes in the bodywork... no wait... the catch is designed to release when the cable snaps.... push down, pull up et voila !
By Jove !
Then I remember I had a replacement cable in a drawer somewhere, bought off DDk years ago.
Threaded the new cable in only to find it was too short... exactly the same length as my snapped cable in fact. Somebody here has sold me a ready snapped cable...... You won't remember... but I do....
Made a cup of tea, ordered a new cable, disaster averted. Porsche/life balance restored.
Mike.

Repaired door striker on 356 that broke on the way to le mans. Very satisfying new chunky part, identical replacement, always amazed at the parts you can easily get for these old motahs...also took the opportunity to make my doorgaps slightly less huge.

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Went to Silverstone in the 73T/3.2, great '70 mph' cruise down on an open M40.
PCGB infield parking huge and 1/2 full by 8.00am.
Great day in the garages, sticky in the sun.
Cruised back on a slightly busier M40. Got hammered blown off reamed out and shredded by a Peugeot 205 with 5 up and a wide open (selectable exhaust) at a steady 60 mph, but hay ho, I was young once.
Met Andy / Hassad there which was good to put a face to a fellow DDK'er, only saw one DDK T shirt and it was mine.
Car ran great but still has the annoying vibration from the engine at 3K rpm so keep under/over that speed.
30 mpg and the wife nearly happy.

Popped over to Badger HQ's workshop/sauna to sweat off a few pounds and cut out some more carpet. While there we knocked up a quick passenger toe board. Having a few old 911s lying around to act as references is a big advantage.

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Fitted my rebuild generator. A real pain and struggled with nuts and bolts that should of been easy. Then I went to put the fan belt on and it wasn't right whatever the thing is called that the pulley halves fit onto wasn't fitted correctly. Almost broke me. I hope I can get the correct bit without having to take it off again
