Finally sorted out my O/S rear brake that had been squeaking for months.

On my way to Swindon by train....one way ticket.

Guess that means I'll have to drive home.

Excited....yep. Nervous....definitely.

But my car is finally coming home.

The 2 springs that hold the brake shoes top and bottom where pointing outwards a little and rubbing on the inside of the drum. This made a horrible scratching noise at low speed. I just turned the washer above the spring which made the springs point slightly inwards.

Thanks Mike.

Good to know your issue. I have a similar one but it's only a very faint squeak. I'll presume it might be the same so I'll have a quick look today. Thanks for the info.

Regards
Mike
