Back from Le Mans
Fantastic weekend, great weather, good food, good beer and great racing.
Also a record attendance of 263,300 which is surprising given CLM is in 3 weeks time.
Had a minor run in with French rozzers regarding a one way road (track). I commented that i was only going one way but the joke did not travel well and cost me 90 euros. Still not bad one ticket in 17 years.
Just to prove most new cars are boring colours.
Nice
Finally anyone know this car spotted at Saint Saturnin on Friday
Is this a DDK car?
Great fun looking forward to CLM.

Re: Le mans 24 hour
That was epic.
I was a guest of Audi, so spent 24 hours enjoying their food and booze and pretending not to be rooting for cars 14 and 20.
They did the hospitality brilliantly well. Nice views too:
I was in that box, above the pit, when we went into the last lap with Audi 1-2. The hosts appeared with Audi flags for us to "spontaneously" wave, and suspiciously well-chilled champagne. Crazy guys!

Re: Le mans 24 hour
Had a great week - totally amazing experience driving a 997 cup car around that track.
288.7km/hr through the speed trap as they made us fit an extra gurney to slow the cars down. 62 cars on the grid for the carrera cup race, of which 6 were 997 and the rest 991.
I came in 40th overall, and won the GT3 cup challenge class. Very emotional experience on the slowing down lap - been dreaming of racing on the main track since 1996 when I first went there to watch the GT1's.

I don't have anything against Mr Webber but you have to suspect that he is on a better pay package than the other drivers but he doesn't seem to have out performed them in the car?DustyM wrote:It's been good so far, let's of action going on. Webber in No20 now.

...But will most certainly have outperformed them in terms of media attention and sponsorship generation

Re: Le mans 24 hour
It was my first time at LeMans and what a race!
I can say I will be there again next year.
I thought Porsche did really well; looking forward to seeing what they do next year.
Those Audis were just too good!

This link is great fore the stat lovers (like me): http://blog.derspies.de/?cat=22
Loads of great analysis in there.
Here's a nugget for Neil.
These pie charts show the driver time share, or who had to work the most for their race fee, in each of the top cars

Re: Le mans 24 hour
you weren't the only guards 930 at Le Mans last weekend - took mine as well, perfect Le Mans transport, fast, functioning a/c, and a classic that everyone seems to appreciate.revo wrote:Back from Le Mans
