1987 3.2 Carrera Backdate project - Sladeys hotrod

Post by sladey »

Thanks for the comments guys - yes it will be great to see it in sunlight

And yes I'm looking forward to driving it along the A60 again as well

I got another pic when Neil had finished

Few bits of crap in it that have come down from the ceiling but nothing that can't be buffed out

Looks great. The stripes are going to really set it off :)

When you off to Italy? Might have to pop over for a gander...

Going a week tomorrow - feel free to pop over and have a look - can't promise to chat much though - may be a bit busy!

Probably doing the stripes when I get back from Italy and before CLM

Brilliant!

'We' are on schedule so far then.

I think we all own a bit of this story now, Epic.

Will the paint be 'hard' tomorrow?
Good luck over the weekend. :)

Great build puts a lot of us to shame I think.
Just a quick thought and I could be completely wrong here but a painter once told me if you are putting vinyl graphics on you need to let the paint cure for quite some considerable time, weeks as apposed to days. Reason being when you come to take vinyl off there may be a chance of taking paint off as well.
This was a fair while ago now and paint technology has come on leaps and bounds so I am probably wrong but may be worth asking the question. Wouldn't want you to have to build another operating theatre in your garage.
