Great update, Mark.
I can imagine your satisfaction at working on your engine, as I well remember stripping and reassembling a tuned 1700 xflow I'd bought (like playing Lego compared to a 911 motor!) under the guidance of an expert. It was a great moment (and relief!) when it fired up for the first time.

Oh, that's a shame. As your ETA was unknown at the time had to make an executive decision and, prompted by my wife, left for homesladey wrote:Mike said that Mick Cliff had just left......
You should know that in between fettling your engine Mike managed to seal my own engine and gearbox, give it a full service, attend to the malfunctioning handbrake and get a new MoT. How he does it in the time and with such a relaxed and jovial attitude is a mystery to me. A bigger mystery is how your engine had survived for so long

Good going to say the least.
Mike is amazing when the chips are down, very very resourceful
Your wife is an angel I think too!
We can all hear the tempo of the music speeding up now of this great adventure, gripping stuff
Hope tonight comes out ok with all the bits to do.

I never thought it possible that the beast in bits would ever roar again but I am looking forward to seeing it at CLM now. You are an inspiration Mark. It is an amazing project.

Brilliant that you managed to help, and learn from Mike. It will all help to make the restart even better. If you need a hand getting the engine back in, give me a shout.
