thats not a bad idea Sladey. I'll see how I get on with them, but definition with a line would help, I'm sure.

... or I might just go black....

Hi

Car looks great. 8)

Might be worth removing the paint from the wheel nut location area. I think the paint can lead to the wheel nuts working loose.

Kind Regards

Not saying yellow Fuchs are not nice... how about polishing them up. Or keeping the petals polished and spraying the yellow bits silver.

From what I remember the first Fuchs as fitted to the 67S were plain alloy. Painting to accentuate the petals came a year later.

its been a pretty exciting day all in all. Apart from gaining massive brownie points from my wife for dropping her off at her mother in law, I met up with an almost 60 year old cousin for the first time and still managed to squeeze in a all to brief meet with Garry at his restoration workshop.

the car is really really coming along now. its pretty much there now, just a little fettling and then cosmetic stuff and it'll be done, ready for the MOT....

here's a few snaps... mainly of the exterior, but the interior is AMAZING! - its totally transferred the car.

my wife thinks they're naff. but I'm quite liking them to be honest. They're definitely different, so I think I'll keep them for a while and maybe when I take the car back to the body shop - couple of little bits to sort out on the bonnet - I may have them painted black...

Personally, I think they'll soften when I've got the racing discs and stickers on it!! :)

The car looks great - inside & out - sorry but I still don't like the (yellow on the) wheels ...

I have a wife like that. It can be a mixed blessing.

What does your wife think about the door cappings being a contrasting colour to the door panels ?

I think she likes them Mike, but when Bootsy says she has an eye for the detail, it's only at a management level, so probably hasn't noticed.

I'm pretty happy with the interior colour change - the piping on the seats is also a shade lighter, so there are 3 colours going on inside. The top caps mirror the dash colour so it's not as if it's higgledy piggledy or anything, just subtly different, which is what I wanted.

The car isn't anywhere as complete as your fabulous A, in that it is a B with a non matching A engine, so I felt I could make the car a little more personal, without affecting the overall value. - my take on a hot rod, without the expensive engine upgrades !

Anyway, the current journey is almost over - Garry thinks about 1-2 weeks away - if the alternator gods our on our side - it'll be great to drive it again, take it to a few shows, just generally enjoy it, for what it is, something that's a bit of fun and something that I can smile in with the family.

And she carries the biggest vote; least mine does for me.

Wow that interior is nice.

Maybe a few "carrera" style exterior touches like this one would finish off the exterior:
