Spent the day looking up part numbers and drawing up list of bits to buy in SoCal next week... And wondering if I'll ever get the damned thing finished.

I'm so with you there. I have pages of those numbers. And I know the finishing pain too.

I spoke to Randy @ Canford's today and he has replaced the front to back brake line in my car (amongst other things). Does that count?

Drove it a bit, was reminded of what a fantastic car it is. Visited GCR in Leicester for the first time as they may become my local. Seem like a good bunch. Realised my new seats are too Hugh and May gave to go........

I only happened on GCR through recommendation - was surprised to learn Leicester has a Porsche specialist.

Have been very happy with his work.

Just running SSI with standard exhaust on MFI. Most the noise is inlet as I had the air box off.

Sounds good John....isn't it annoying when those crappy modern cars get in the damn way and they just don't go fast enough... ..hope you blasted them into the weeds once the camera stopped running...

Restored an old 14.5" Moto Lita steering wheel and started
Fabricating a horn push as I want to try it out as part if my dash refit I'm about to start.

The horn push will be very slightly recessed when fitted and there will be a polished outer ring and screw set fitted to the wheel

Not easy to get a matching pair. They are rarer than the usual Heuer stopwatches you see many of as these are 60mm in diameter - the same size as the Rallye sets you'll see with Master Times and Monte Carlos in place

Took me quite a while to find a pair but since doing it I'm now using contacts to try and make a few sets up and sell some as I acquire them. I then sourced the mounting plate from a guy who fabricates them over in France.





The end result being a nice pair of dash timers for about a 1/4 of the price you will pay for a Rallye set. As much as I like the Rally ones I can't justify the asking prices especially when you strip them down and know he movements inside are ok but nothing special.

I'm selling this pair on eBay at the moment is anybody is interested

Thanks Simon, it's good to get a second opinion. Damn predictive text messed up my message above which should have said" my seats are too high and may have to go" anyone over six feet three will not suit them
