I admired the shinyness of my newly refurbed calipers and then went out for a blast to make sure they work OK. Going to do the same tomorrow, just to be sure

Looks good, now all you have to do is take the white sun strip off the windscreen and it will look even better!
cheers, Mike.

The Recaro SPG seats in my car are set so low I'm pretty much sat on the floor . There's also a full large diameter cage which means there's no sun visors . I don't like to drive wearing sun glasses so the sun strip is a necessary evil until I can come up with a more elegant solution .

Use a black one, then it doesn't effect the lines of the car.
cheers, Mike.

Indeed.
Have had a black Halfords one on the outside and a limo black deeper one on the inside for 20+ years, sorts all the 'low-sun' issues in a low seat and caged 911 but looks normal and you can see traffic lights too!

My 912 gearbox repair and "one or two jobs" has turned into a major refresh - I'll need to write it up properly in the resto section with all the photos.
But for today, I opened a box containign 115 pieces of zinc plated greatness from Derby Plating... It matches the newly powder painted tinware perfectly. And will fit in with the MB Engineering rebuilt gearbox etc..
Drove round the cotswolds with the roof off repeatedly red lining it on minor roads -big smiles.
On the way back I picked my daughter up from work and took her home.
I had forgotten what fun it is
Took the 356 out and turned on the Valve Motorola. For the past 10 years or more all I could ever get were some French stations, Chichester Hospital radio and 'Gold' In the past 5 years the first 2 disappeared and I have been left only with Gold. No complaints I like 50 / 60's music but.. I had trimmed the radio checked all the earths all the aerial connections and even cleaned the inside of the box with the valves inside. I had given up completely.
So, ... yesterday driving down the road switched on for some Gold. Thought this is strange someone is talking, moved the station controller and low and behold BBC 5 live or something, then maybe 10 other programmes I have never heard in my car before. So far can't find 'Gold'.
I am bemused, really odd. Its like I was back driving it in the 60's but with white hair.!!
