Another new member

Post by BenC »

Hi,
I'm new to DDK - this is my first post but I've been reading threads on here for ages
Spend quite a bit of time on impactbumpers as my main project is an SC track car.
Enjoy working on the car myself, just a much as driving it!

Here it was yesterday having the engine mapped :)
Image
about 950kgs of fun, 964 engine and 290hp

Got quite a few SC and 3.2 bits that I'm now not going to use so thought they might be good upgrades for the older cars - oil cooler, torsion bars, anti roll bars etc
so will post ads in the relevant section.

All the best

Welcome Ben, thanks for the intro. Great looking SC you have there and a potent beast! Hope you enjoy the forum and find it useful. Would love to see some more picture of the car. looks like it's got some really nice details.

Thanks Bootsy,

Basic spec:
Fibreglass - both bumpers, wings, bonnet, engine lid, bonnet, doors
Took the sunroof out with an angle grinder :) - welded in panel
Made polycarb windows
No interior - drilled holes in everything remaining!
Thinned out loom
Lightweight battery
6 point roll cage
6 point harnesses
964 engine which I've removed everything surplus

All good fun :)

Thanks :) haven't seen much of you on IB for a while.
Chris at Centre of Gravity days he's still got some of your parts on his bench!

Car's weight is up a bit at the mo as I've recently changed wheels and added a few bits, but plenty of other projects in the pipeline!

Yeah I think he's got a door handle for me - he also owes me a bit of work on there front bushes but my cars been in bits since last October so I'll be getting back to him after July

Still go on IB every day but just don't update as much - seems a bit daft to copy everything over there as well
