1972 911TE in Aubergine (Monseir Aubergine)
US blue plate car imported last year from California.
100% rust free, matching numbers and I am third owner from new.

The car to coin a phrase from other users on this forum is a 10-15ft car IE from that distance looks good but close up needs a re paint.
Glass out re spray being undertaken and so far no rust found. Floor pans and under bonnet area are to remain as existing IE over spray as original out of the factory but as I say no rust.
When engine was removed a large nest of some sort was located under the engine cowling over No6 Barrel. I suspect a large American rodent by the size of the nuts stored there. This was not a problem in itself however after a leak down test it was discovered that the rings were not great on this particular barrel probably due to over heating. It was also discovered that at some point in time when the engine was re built in the 90s the barrels were put back on 180 degrees out (upside down). so as with all resto's we are now into new rings as well and more work and cost than expected.
Seats are at the trimmers and all is moving ahead.
