'67 912/911 Long standing Project....;-)

Post by Uffe Henneberg »

Hi everybody, now I've learned to post pics here by the use of Photobucket...;-) I think I will start a Restoration tread.
My beloved 911 started it's life delivered as a 912 in Hamburg/Germany in 1967. I'm a little unaware then it arrived to Denmark, there we met and joined lives...
It has a RS Ducktail and widened rear wings,I guess this has been done in the '70es together with the 911 conversion .
The reason for my guess is that there is 4 different colors over the car and widened wings and engine mounts ,last color....guards red...'80... :-)
I got it as a insurance write off, damaged in front and right side ,there is a little rust compared to other 911 of that age, except from the firewall and rear inner wings.
At this stage the car is straight ,has been mounted on a jiig ,ready for metal-work.
I will do all the work by myself, there is no deadline... ;-).
I have found most of the panels, most of them from other cars . I'm well married....As my brother in law has a (in Denmark at least)well known porsche garage.. http://www.porsche-danmark.dk so I have a good source of parts..

I have planned to keep it much as it is. Narrow front, wide rear wings,no front spoiler. A bit R style, but normal bonnet and indicators/lights. Minilite 15" wheels 7" and 8" wide. Other-vice standard .

Look forward to watching progress. Should look good, I like a narrow front with a flared rear end

That's what I was thinking - cool place :)

Is the car still short wheelbase, or was it converted to long?

Except he should have a pair of safety eyewear protectors on (if he is really doing the job for real).
No 911 is worth the price of an eye.
