RHD tends to get better money in Australia than the UK with the strong dollar over there. An immaculate 68's was offered for £110k and sold quickly earlier in the year, it was A1 quality though.

Just my two pennies....
Australia's prices are not to do with the $ but more to do with the mega high luxury tax you have to pay on vehicles...

At £50k if it was fairly sound and not rusty I think you 'might' find a buyer who would drive it as it is....
:) This is how I bought the car. I had Lee give it a good look over and then bought it, I just wanted to own it and drive it. Of course I didn't pay 50k but it was still a huge amount of money for me at the time. Perhaps with the way the market has gone, buyers are more circumspect now and need to see an investment. Which is fair enough.
964RS wrote:Depends how sound it is REALLY is I guess as that figure could go down quite a lot dependent on findings, but as all we have is a pic from distance all you are going to get is ball parks.

As Andy says a 68S will never carry the premium of the 67S or a LWB S and RHD does not have the market of LHD. Helen's at £55k was in the best colour and had a LOT spent on it...but that also was not in 'current' market.
Swings, Roundabouts Image and although Helens car had had a load of money spent on it, it wasn't in any way a concourse, fully restored to 'original' car.
964RS wrote:Another way of thinking about this is 'what would you take for it'? That is then how much YOUR car is worth....to you
Quite right, there are more than one or two ways of calculating the value of these cars of ours.
Midlifecrisis wrote:As we are in a global market I have found the US price guide Hagertys quite helpful in the past, they seem pretty on it although obviously just based on LHD http://www.hagerty.com/valuationtools/H ... ?vc=954435

Interesting, thanks Jos. All grist to the mill.

Ahem !

Paisley all over. Image ...Well, erm, the COA says Black leatherette. The car still has it's original interior, although the seats aren't actually attached at the mo but they are in lovely condition.

Gentlemen, thankyou, I now have a good feel for where I should pitch the car, (my car, my lovely car.) but in closing I should say that, this afternoon I did have a bit of a twiddle with the idle mixture screws and then took the old girl out. We've been everso lucky oop North, these recent winds haven't really affected us and today was one of those rare autumnal days when the leaves are still on the trees, not creating skidpan conditions on the roads and the sun was low in the sky. I've got quite good at tuning this engine (even though I do say so, etc.) and today it all came together. All those distributors, all that money, all that head scratching... two thousand revs to seven thousand three hundred, up through the gearbox, seamlessly. It all came together and the car just flew.

Selling this car will not be something I do through choice.

Leave it with me. :)

Cheers, Mike.
