Anyone know the story? When was it done? Why?

Our very own Alan told me that it was the only prototype they made (this one trailered in from Stuttgart)

Asked why it was not made - and it looks an amazing extension of the car and keeps the lines and proportions far far better than, say, a Panamera - his suggestion was one of an ability to market it: if you're flogging the 911 as a sports car with 4 seats, how do you sell an extended car...?

I did my "shopping" in the parade ring....loved the white 911 backdate (a very nice look) but really loved the red 73 Targa and that green Carrera pictured above
