Re: porsche vid. of the day
I cant compete with that ST for weather or driving skill but heres me doing half a lap of Spa earlier this year in my RSR rep. soundtrack is a bit pants because it was so hot I had the window open
a good reminder that racetrack speed is mostly down to driver and not the car!
I go past a stripped out 968 clubsport quite easily which surprised me (and an F40 who was clearly pootling) and yet I couldnt quite hang on to a Clio 200...
video may give a bit of impression of the gradients found at Spa which are unlike any other track I've driven on

You know, I'd watch the WRC more if the cars looked like, went like and more importantly, sounded like this 997 having a real hard go at it....

Re: porsche vid. of the day
7 secs faster than the McLaren P1: which was set just last week.
The 918's 6.57 sets a new lap record for a car with global road homologation.
Technically speaking two road cars have gone quicker: the Radical SR8 and SR8LM.
But lets be honest, those are race cars that somehow can be made road legal.

Re: porsche vid. of the day
Hi,
Here's a short video showing a lap of Oulton Park in my 1966 911.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/teamtool/s ... 266630806/
It was taken during the Historic Roadsports Race at the Oulton Park Gold Cup about a month ago. The white car in front is Porsche GB's "Project 50" and what you can't see is John Shaw's lovely Blood Orange 69 car giving my rear bumper some close attention.
My car has also made it into the last 30 of the "Classic Car Of The Year" competition, it's the only Porsche left in the running with the winner being decided by a public vote, if it's lucky enough to win I will be auctioning the prises to raise money for a local hospice charity.
If you have a moment please visit http://www.CCOTY.co.uk and follow the "Vote Now" link to register a vote for "Porsche 911 Type 901 1966".

Thanks very much.
Rob

Re: porsche vid. of the day
A short film we made of the last drive of the year just to warm it through before putting it away for the winter. Doing this helped convince me that despite a really good offer from Paul Stephens I need to keep this car...Hope you enjoy.
