Good to see the car at Barry's pad now and next to the Wheel.

IMHO I think the shot of the car on the trailer is very telling.
The tail line looks too low against the rear arch 'hump' and generally the rest of the shape.

With my Lola hillclimber and going to too many historic races at Silverstone/SPA etc you can get very caught up trying to build a '908/910' etc as they are so good, but should inspire originality not replication.
Sorry if I have missed a few points/actions but about time to foam fill the frame and out with the surforms?

Just seeing if the broken links worked if I removed the double 'img': was trying to find the original side rendering (i.e. Macaulay's one), just for reference. Anyway, they do, which is good news, perhaps between Steve and I we can go back and get all of the broken links working again.

To look at the two pics above, the #9 must surely be the best shape, even if it looks very ,904, it looks good to me.(fwiw)

Don't worry, I wasn't particularly referencing these, or putting them up for discussion, just wanted to try out the links!

Not much to post at the moment, as I'm in a deep-think mode at the moment. It's absolutely brilliant having it right under my wing at the workshop, and can give it a really good dose of looking at every few hours. Have been trying lots of ideas out, had one little breakthrough I think, but won't post anything for a while, as I want to try it out.

In fact, I think as far as the main shape is concerned, we'll probably maintain radio silence until we settle on a final form that we're happy with. Definitely can't wait to get wheeling, in fact, the wheel's not been used for ages, other than a bit of 911 inner wing the other day.

My bed-time reading at the moment though is to plough through my various wheeling books and coursework, just so I can be reminded what goes where .

Barry, I have a good old fashioned book on wheeling which someone had buned to CD. I seem to remember it is more detailed than a lot of the more modern book. I'll try to find it and send you a copy.

Whilst Barry and Steve are keeping busy on the Okrasa, I got a bit bored and made some progress on my own little project, so as it has similarities, I thought I'd share it with you, so please excuse the minor thread diversion:

I set up engine into chassis and make up some mounts then used a randon selection of wood offcuts to get an idea of how much engine bulge will be needed (must be learning these techniques from Steve and Barry!)

then I sketched out a series of key body lines which I will cut in MDF and set on the chassis - Centre lines, key cross sections at spaceframe datum lines, plan profile of front and rear etc. As it's only for me, and I understand them, they are rather spread out over 2 sides of the board (which still has the outlines of the Okrasa visible!) very bad practice on my part, but hey ho!

Once these are cut out and on the chassis I can fill in the gaps in between the stantions with foam and then work out the detail areas.

easy peasy?

I'm planning on GRP, so no need for Barry to book me a slot in his schedue yet!

I toyed with selling it the other week, but the Midget I wanted to buy looks like it sold, so I thought I'd better do something with it if I'm keeping it. We'll see how long this flush of enthusiasm lasts........

Just back from my hols, and imagine my surprise to see this at the Cotswold motor museum. Turns out Barry and Steve have launched a sideline based on early work on the Okrasa........

Well we've been through a very interesting phase these last 3 months. Barry indeed went into deep thought mode... And the result I think you'll find is interesting to say the least. I won't steal his thunder as the idea and work is virtually all his own. Al and I have made contributions on a technical and stylistic basis but what you will hopefully see next week is very much the creation of Mr Carter, and it will I believe allow us to settle on a final design very quickly now...
