PLEASE do not be offended, this is a great original car, but are you sure about those seat belt mounts for the lap straps?
I can't help but feel they will ride-up the seat/your stomach and chest in a hard frontal and you will submarine under the belt?

I say this because I doubt you will find a factory car with those locations.
The straps usually do down not back from the pelvic area.

Again, trying to help, nothing else.

I have been looking at the Peking to Paris thread, and the Prepared 911. It mentions that the seatbelt location has been moved. I could cut some plate, and weld in place to create some new mounting points...

Any thoughts ?

Chris, I agree with the belt comments Your solution seems sensible to me. I have 4 points in my car and the lap points are as drawn by 911 hillclimber although in my later shell that actually means using the original lap and diagonal lap strap points.

Those lugs I think are good, just be sure they are welded properly.
Personally, I do not like welded seat belt points preferring a good bolt with spreader plate, but I may be simply nervous about my welding skills!

But I did make it myself, nothing special just some aluminium sheet and a hole saw ( and some mesh that would only have been thrown away anyway )

Hard Brakelines installed.

The kit I used is from Cohline which I got from Roger Bray...




...the only problem is that there was abit of confusion of which piece goes where...I assumed that the long one went from front to back

but after a bit of thought I worked out :


LEFT TO RIGHT for a LHD '68

1. FRONT TO BACK
2. MASTER CYLINDER TO FRONT PASSENGER-SIDE STRUT
3. CONNECTING REAR OF #1 TO REAR DRIVER-SIDE TRAILING ARM
4. MASTER CYLINDER TO FRONT DRIVER-SIDE STRUT
5. REAR CALIPER TO TRAILING ARM
6. REAR CALIPER TO TRAILING ARM
7. CONNECTING FRONT OF #1 TO MASTER CYLINDER
8. FRONT STRUT TO CALIPER
9. FRONT STRUT TO CALIPER


The fitting was surprisingly straight forward, start to finish was about an hour and actually quite fun. I just need to go over everything to check for tightness and add the spring retaining clips...The Hardlines connect to Goodridge braided hoses:













This little tool worked a treat...

Been really looking forward to this arriving...







Rich ( TurboThomas ) was great to deal with, very friendly and his product speaks with itself...Couldn't resist a quick fitment this evening. The bumper needed abit of trimming, and I plan some more 'strategic holes ' in the fibreglass to aid cooling, but I am really happy with it...










Can't wait for that first start up now
