Hello from a confused Brit

Hey Everyone, Been a lurker around here for a while now, lusting over all of your builds and buys.

I am a 24 year old brit who has somehow ended up with a very German life.
German Girlfriend ( Practically Wife ) German Cars Spend a lot of time in Germany.

I have always been a massive Porsche fan, and when my Girlfriends mum found out she let me have a play with her 911 Turbo and since then I have been obsessed.
See photo below for our garage as it stands, I really want to get a project going something late 60's early 70's, Where did you guys get all of your knowledge for restoration, I would love to take my time and get stuck in but im worried my limited knowledge would really stop me.
Is it better to just spend the money and buy something already in a good place?

Women in the garage is my Girlfriends mother, car on the right is hers, car on the left is my Girlfriends 1970 SL280,
I am yet to add to the stable but hoping to sit mine in the space next to the Merc.

Welcome Jodan. If that's her mother then I guess you are one lucky guy if her daughter is anything like her. Those cars look super too.
Hey, getting a late 60s early 70's car is still possible- keep looking and do have someone who knows his stuff with you if you are not conversant with the ins and outs of these cars. They are not cheap- whether you buy one already done or you want to project manage a rebuild youself - but the fun in them is fantastic and they are all worth owning.

Haha I am indeed very lucky, I get to drive those two beautiful cars as well!
I have always wanted a project car so I cam leaning towards the idea of getting a rolling shell and going from there, time will tell, its time to do some more research!

Welcome to DDK Jordan
I seems to me that you already have all that one might aspire to in life.
I would stick with what you already have and not bother with a project as they are time consuming and expensive and make for domestic disturbances!
However if you go the project route you will find all the help you need here.
