After the success I have had with other forums for previous/current cars, figured I would join a porsche forum for my next project.
I have a long history of Japanese cars, ranging from all sorts of Imprezas to a Supra and finally to what I own now, the mighty Nissan GTR. It is a fantastic car! With a few tweaks mine is running 610bhp and round a track, even in my useless hands, it is so capable. This will not be getting sold
I now want a project car... something that I can build on over a few years (and have half of the value disappear), but more to enjoy the process and make it my own.
For sometime I have wanted an Eleanor and more recently I have caught myself looking at the classic Japanese cars like Hakosuka (the original GTR). Then a friend of mine sent me the "Urban Outlaw" video (http://www.reelhouse.org/mos/urbanoutlaw/#), which I love and then I also found the "One Car to Do It All" video (http://vimeo.com/57909173). I have always been a huge fan of the 993 911! I went out in a old 911 ages ago, when I used to live in South Africa - a friend of mine rebuilt an old 912 and I went out a few times with him around the track - fantastic car.
There are some fantastic build/restoration threads on here and I cannot wait to see the Martini car being revealed! Hopefully I will soon start my own thread
Is there anyone in the Surrey area that would be willing to let me look around their porsche (project shells to fully built restorations and everything inbetween)? Would like to find out about the hardships, things to look for, etc. Early 70s style 911s especially! Happy to trade a ride in the GTR if you fancy it...........
