Porsche 911T 1969 restoration

I did all my shell work without a jig as in 88 there weren't too many around.
I levelled and levelled again etc and spent ages keeping it true and failed, I was 3mm out of centre in the end, but the car seemed ok (I raced it as well as road going).

Get on a jig if you can though.

I has been a while since last post but things have moved on. My last day working on the car was in september - after that dayjob took over and as i really wanted to thing to move on i called my friend if he could help me out. Car sat another month and in the beginning of the December thing finally started to move on. Two months and about 300 work hours later the car is ready for paint. As i got all the pictures recently i slowly start to bring the project up to date.

Nice metalwork indeed. Very impressive. I made some of those compound curve sections at the bottom of the inner wing for the Doctors car and therefore I know how much work is involved.

I am curious how long you leave that lovely shiny metalwork before getting it recoated, and what you then use to recoat?
Here at the moment where it seems to rain every other day at least and the humidity is never much below 90% things flash rust in hours, so I try to clean the minimum surface to work, then use some phosphoric acid based neutraliser asap, then etch primer or POR 15 - within an hour or two at most.

Hi

Im really happy about the speed how the guy did everything and the quality is excellent. In Estonia most of the winter we see temperatures below -10C and therefore theres not much humidity in the air. I have one motorcycle trailer in my garage that has been in shiny clean metal shape for two years and only few really small surface rust spots have started to form.

About the cars - i think there is 3 longhoods in Estonia including mine and only one is fully restored.

Interesting jacking system use to level the front, but as long as it works, why not?
