Re: 72 Hotrod - my new project
Prototipo, WEVO and CSs mounted low make a great combination.

This is looking great Dan. I had a Prototipo but found it a little too far away and a touch small for everyday use at 350mm. I now have a 370mm dished Sparco which I much prefer.

Re: 72 Hotrod - my new project
charles...is that quadruple wrapped or something??
that wheel looks even phatter than the one on my old M3 and I always thought that was chunky
maybe just the camera angle but it looks different to the one on my RSR
Al...thanks, I might consider that. will depend if I use a removabele hub or not, which if fitted brings the wheel closer

Dan,
It's double wrapped, topped with wagyu leather and stitched with cream irish linen.
There's a big spacer too, around 30mm if I recall, and the accelerator pedal is D-Zug's 917 pattern.
As you say, you have four main contact paints with the car, and I spent quite a lot of time getting it right. The driving position is much better than in my other cars.

Re: 72 Hotrod - my new project
I think it was an ebay buy, and it was wrapped by a guy I use in Littlehampton. In fact he's working a bit of magic on my CSs at the moment.

Dan,
I was visiting Porsche GB in Reading today. There was a bare 911 shell on the ramps with lots of their techs looking at it. Was it yours?

Dan, are you e-coating before paint? or straight to paint? Great build by the way, the car is going to be a cracker.

e coating first... was never convinced by the acid dipping but the e coating seems like a really good idea to meNorthy wrote:Dan, are you e-coating before paint? or straight to paint? Great build by the way, the car is going to be a cracker.

Re: 72 Hotrod - my new project
Dan, have you got any more photos details on mounting those Recaros? Have you changed/lowered the rails? Thanks!

i havent got any photos but the seat rails are definitely lowered..using those weld in ones that are pretty much flush fit to the floor and also serve as a harness mount
