Re: Hi Everyone
There is no need to backdate the car to run in MSA post-historics as the cut-off is the end of 1974, hence the 3.0 engine being allowed. Beware that you will need to get the whole car to 1974 spec, so no adjustable ride height spring plates or hydraulic camchain adjusters, 6 bolt crankshaft, not the 9 bolt in the SC engine (although that is very difficult to spot). The engines that are being run are giving about 260 - 280 bhp, and cost at least £15K to build. You will need to loose the sill oil pipes and run them through the car and a custom mounted centre oil cooler is de riguer.

Re: Hi Everyone
Dave, arches are a personal choice, and a bit of a minefield. If you go with rsr style front arches, the other option is st rear arches, these are a wee bit narrower than rsr, but let you use 9" wheels, rather than the 11". With a choice of rs,rsr and st arches, spoilers, bumpers and engine lids, the choice is yours to build whatever takes your fancy.Codfather wrote: is there a definite need to go wider on the rear arches with the flared RSR fronts? or would it look naff if i just kept the SC originals?

My car goes of the road at the end of the month, If there's a bit of decent weather before then, I'm hoping to have a couple of runs out, so could maybe arrange a meet.
You up for this Mike?

Yes, but I feel so inadequate, I only have standard front arches.brembo wrote:Codfather wrote:

Re: Hi Everyone
Nick, looks like it will be a long slog then!! I am quickly realising that by the time I am finished , I will probably end up keeping it in the garage and look at it
, I will leave the spec of the engine until I decide how far down that route I go, the plan was to run all brake/fuel/oil lines inside anyway, but was concerned about sitting next to a few pints of boiling oil rushing by! Might provide some much headed heat though!
Dougie, I will be praying for some dry weather then! I think it will be ST rears then, and the smaller R?? Front spoiler!! I better not get too far ahead of myself though, I still have to sort the slammed on the floor/ race orientated ride height!
Cheers
