Cotswold Drive Out

Post by Mitch »

OK, so not exactly an event and certainly not Hedingham or CLM but a few of us out in the West Country got together yesterday for a drive through the Cotswolds.

Darren, Mark, Rich, me and my son Harry met earlyish near Cirencester and after a good natter on all things car related and fuelling up on a proper breakfast, we headed off while the roads were still pretty clear, if a bit wet. Zero planning went into the route but we picked up a few of those lovely Cotswold roads with a sweepy bends and good views. The weather improved and as we parted company at Shipston on Stour everything was drying out nicely. Harry and I needed to get over to Stratford to reunite him with his "new" bike and complete an air cooled v water cooled twin test

No Ferry Man quality pics I'm afraid but a few snaps from me and I'll leave others to pick up what happened next, if they care to?!

Great to have seen everyone and we'll have to do it again before long, heading over the border into the wilds of Wales. All welcome!

Sounds like a great idea - I'd be interested in tagging along in the future (might not be ready for the next one quite yet though).

Excellent! Now that'll be a tail worth following.... simply to admire those reflectors  Along with everyone else, I'm really looking forward to seeing (and hearing) your car on the road Andy 8)

That would be great, would be nice if we could get half a dozen cars or so out for the next run 8)

After we left Nigel we actually headed back to Cheltenham to see something very special indeed……..

Image

One of the most original, untouched early 911's I've seen in mostly first paint and with all it's original kit, including….

...original engine bay decals and parts…

Image

…and even original early 70's Coco mats…

Image

How cool is that! 8) - We weren't allowed to leave the garage door open too long though, something to do with UV light affecting paintwork and interior bleaching

A great morning out and good to catch up with everyone…

A great looking bike Nigel, Harry must be really pleased - 22 years old and 1200cc  - Hope he's as careful as his Dad is in his RS!

Moving to Cirencester in 2 weeks, would be great to meet up with you guys. Where was the group photo taken?
My 71T is at the body shop at the moment.

That'll be good Keith. Photo taken at Tredington, just north of Shipston, no relevance just an easy place to take a quick pic.

Good luck with the move and getting your 911 on the road, look forward to seeing it!
