I like how you parked next to a Viper car to soften the blow - as you looked back you were reminded of you new ride!23e Heure wrote:OK, I can't put this off any longer: here are the keys.
Now then... I just need to go off somewhere on my own for a bit if that's okay...
Look after her Mark, and remember: this car is happiest when going on long adventures... keep adding photos to the file!

Good luck Mark. I'm busy trying to turn this
back into its original spec - Aug 72 2.4E in Tangerine - in fact just like yours! I have taken several photos of your car in James' possession to guide my restoration as, being an ex-race car, it's missing quite a bit of its original fixtures and fittings. Have always thought if it comes out anywhere near as good as yours I'd be a very happy chap.

Re: 1972 2.4E
Thanks for the kind comments Mick. had the car for just over 3 weeks now and still find myself walking into the garage on a daily basis to get a glimse of her.
Been really lucky with the weather to, since picking her up from Hedingham so had lots of opportunities to take her out.
Been following the early stages of your resto thread, if its anything like your previous restoration then its going to be awesome. good luck

Sounds good Mark. It looked great before but always to good to get the car just as you want it. Will be nice for you to be enjoying it on the road again and look forward to seeing it!
Re: 1972 2.4E
Will have to organise a West country meet before the weather turns and the car gets tucked up for the winter
You around Nigel next weekend?
cheers Mark

Sounds good the 3rd it is. Any suggestions of an appropriate route?
Re: 1972 2.4E
After 4 weeks was able to to pick her up today from Alan at Canford Classics. After driving my new car for around 4 weeks prior to handing it over to Alan i thought the handling and breaks were fine, however after driving her home today, the responsiveness of the car is significantly better, feels like a different car, was a hoot driving her home. will share some before and after pics next week for the time being Alan sent this one to me on Friday evening as he was completing final touches...
New at this picture downloading malarky, hopefully this will work...

Any more takers for jaunt around the cotswalds - Sat the 3rd assuming the weather clears up
Re: 1972 2.4E
So after having the suspension and brakes refurbed at Canfords towards the end of 2012 i thought i would bite the bullet and get the car back into Canfords this spring to have a bare metal respray plus a few others jobs carried out.
Heres the car at the start of April on its way to Canfords body shop:
