1958 A Coupe Project

Here we have a 1958 Porsche 356A Coupe VIN 103749. It comes with engine # 607948, which turns over by hand. This is a great project. A tremendous amount of work has already been put into the restoration of this car. LOTS of new metal has been welded into place on this car, including:
New Floors
New Battery Box
Front Strut Reinforcement
Rear Frame Torsion Area
Front Closing Panels
Door Thresholds
Diagonal Member

With 356A Coupe projects going through the roof in price, this is truly a diamond in the rough. The previous owner has put many hours of work into getting this car back on the road. While much of the heavy lifting is already done, there is lots more work that needs doing. This would be a perfect car to do a mild outlaw with because the quality of the work done precludes this car from ever winning a concours show. Some of the work is ok, some is less so. While you won't have to worry about putting in a lot of the metal work this car needed, you will have to do a lot of finishing work. Stuff like door bottoms, outer longitudunals, heater tubes, and overall some finishing of the work already completed. You will find filler on the body, it was used without concern to the costs of a gallon bucket. Please look closely at all the pictures, they tell a pretty good story of the car. Original color is white, car is currently protected by a white primer .

If you have been looking for an A coupe and don't want to do a lot of the heavy lifting of rust repair, and can do a lot of work yourself, this is the one you've been waiting for. If you have been looking for a car to do a 100 point restoration on and show it at Pebble Beach, I would not delve into that with this car. What you have is an affordable A Coupe that you won't have to source a million parts for, or worry about how to get floor pans into.
