must be worth at least a second a lap, bearing in mind a lap of the Targa Florio was 45 miles of course!
cheers, Mike.

Re: My new project.........
While the body work and paint has been done at Sportwagen the bonnet and engine lid has gone back to the guys who painted
it originally to have the silver matched to the car. Jason and Lee have now just set up their own company 'Unit 24' in Camberley
so in between building a new spray booth and knocking walls down they've managed to redo the panels and given them a
fantastic new Glasurit lacquer finish.

Had to take a picture of them sat together like this in the paintshop, as soon they'll be a opposite ends of the car!

Another 100 gram shaved off... nice
Took a good look at my standard mirror that is still in place at the moment and it would work well with the smaller one, since I was staring at the parcel shelf and headliner for almost half of the mirror.

Hi Mike,
Bearing mind that the original ST/RSR cages are not FIA/MSA approved, how are you planning to deal with the roll cage dilemma?
Thx
Martin

Re: My new project.........
Hi Martin, only just seen your question.
My priority with the car was always to make it as close as I could to being period correct, the phrase 'toolroom' copy springs to mind,
so I'd rather things like the half cage, fuel tank and fire extinguisher system look right in the first instance as opposed to making it
race ready. I was only ever going to use it for demonstration runs, tours and exhibitions, I'm too crap a driver (and too poor as well)
to ever consider racing it.
Having said that, I'm still going to go down the road of applying for an FIA Historic Technical Passport for the car. When I first made
inquiry's to the MSA about 3 years ago I had a preliminary inspection of the car done and it was explained that as long as all is period
correct then an HTP is pretty straightforward, the problems come when you want to enter competitive events and have to go through
scrutineering, that's when the safety issues will be flagged up.
Things may have changed more recently of course, I know that prices for an HTP have trebled for instance, but at the end of the day if
someone wanted to race it at some stage in the future then putting a full cage, fuel system, seats and fire suppression in for the full
paperwork isn't the end of the world.
Hope that helps, Mike
