Thanks chaps, I must say I think this has been the best moment so far, getting it to move under its own steam. The gearbox feels very good so far, 1st engages better than before, its a little tight into 1st and 2nd but that will be the new syncros, they should bed in after a few miles. The LSD is very noticable around tight slow turns it grumbles and grows a bit, I like it  The engine seems to run better than it did, but thats maybe just my memory. Getting excited a bit now.

Kind Regards

Just wanted to say the ride height is work in progress, the new torsion bars will settle so it may look a bit 4X4ish for a little while. Once settled I will set it up properly.

So I go away for a week with work and all of a sudden it's nearly done. This is a truly top moment. And let's not forget it's looking pretty good too :-)

I'm so looking forward to seeing this - You've bags of time to do all the fettling I know you'll be keen on.

Congrats for this stage.

Back from work and back into the garage :P Spent quite a bit of time on fiddly jobs not worth documenting but also made some more progress, looking to MOT the car next week, we will see.

Fitted the sill trim, makes a big difference.

Also fitted the rear panel and number plate.

Although the lights and indicators have been fitted they didn’t work, so have finished of the wiring and it all now works a treat.

Fitted the fog lamps to the bumper and the reg plate. Not sure if the sticker will stay or if I will fit the standard bracket and number plate, time will tell.

And last night Mike popped down and we fitted the rear screen. It is a little more tricky due to having the wires in the rubber for the heated screen and we also had to punch holes into the rubber for the wires to exit. But following the workshop manual it went very well better than the front and hay presto a rear screen.

Loads to do today, passenger seat to fit front bumper trim to fit and then we can fit the bumper. Sun visors side windows then onto the doors frames, best get busy.

Kind Regards
John

Those 169's look really good - so right to have the yellow ones on a European car...really like the look.

Can't be far off now then? What's still on the list?

Speak soon,

Thanks chaps :drunken:

Fitted the door handles and the original Durant door mirror, and would you believe it I can see out of it

The list of things to do is getting smaller. The door frames and windows are the biggest jobs, the rest is just odds and sods. I am also waiting on the machine shop to sort out one bracket for my rear side window frame.
