Hello from Australia

Post by acf321 »

Hi All

My name is Adam Fairfax and i live in Sydney, Australia. I recently purchased a RHD 1974 2.7 Carrera, otherwise referred to as the 'poor mans' 2.7 RS. Car is chocolate brown and in very good original condition, and comes from the UK where it was owned by a now deceased gentleman for 24 yrs. car appears to have had very little use during that time, hence the incredible condition. This car follows a three year break, before which i owned an 85 930. I will endeavour to attach some photos shortly.

The site is fantastic.

And Welcome to DDK Adam! The 2.7 Carrera is a fantastic car and they seem to be traversing the Globe quite lot these days!

Look forward to the pics.

Hi Adam (and Viv),

Great to hear from other Aussies. I am in Canberra where there is a small but passionate group of hooligans who get together and drive their old Porsches the way they are meant to be driven. Some are in the PCC, some not. I have a 71 Targa T (the poor man's pre-impact car?) and have just bought a '60 356 T5B coupe ( the poor man's 356!). Good mate of mine has a 74 2.7. We swap rides every now and then, it's amazing the difference a few years makes. You sure have picked a nice car.

Good luck with it. If you a ever interested in a looooonnng drive you would be welcome to hook u
With us some time.
