It's definitely better to speak to them. Very helpful, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic too.
Good service, always been competitive for my insurance.
I've used their claims service and the breakdown cover with positive results

However I'm still waiting on Hagertys for an answer on a windscreen claim from July, despite repeated chasing. :(

Just had a telephone conversation with my insurance company, told them I was thinking of leaving, gave them some examples of quotes that I had from elsewhere, and they agreed to drop mine back to the same as last year. :) :)

Also passed MOT today, so happy bunny all round :bounce: :bounce:

Topman Steve. Just goes to show they just try it on with us. Had similar experiences with insurance companys that keep putting up the premiums. Come to the conclusion if you don't make a stand they will walk over you and take the p155. Our monies better in our pocket than theirs. Keep bartering.

Having now to apply for registration with DVLA I needed to get Insurance cover.

The guy at Hagerty's was very helpful, knew all about Chesil Speedsters and quoted me £131 agreed value :) :) ,, best quote I got anywhere, Adrain Flux wanted £192..

Having been through 2 SVA's (Robin Hood 2b and a Cobra), I was expecting the IVA to be quite a bit different, however it was much the same and the test engineer was very helpful. I think it helped as Chesil take all their Speedsters to Exter so he was familiar with the car and could see I had built it to Chesil's specification.

I am still adding up the bits, but the missus tells me I spent just over £16K.

You can read about the test on my website via the link in my signature.

Can't wait now, the Speedster is attracting more interest than either of my other kits, I guess it will handle just like a beetle, I will be sure to document the experience.

All the paperwork is now with DVLA, so just waiting to hear now..
