Trying to answer this without sounding like I need a stay in the priory. I manage a full 14 days without alcohol so no need for a beer fridge. Looking forward to our (your) little project should have a great time. Might even find out where all my bits need to go.

I was away last week helping with somebody else's car so not too much going on with mine. I have managed to put the relay board back into the engine bay. This mounts on anti-vibration bolts.





I have also rebuilt my drive shafts.

All the bits.


First put your boot on, easily forgot.


Then the belleville washer goes on, ensuring it is fitted the correct way round.




Next you fit these to bits together


Then press it onto the shaft, you can also knock it on with a soft or copper hammer.





Then put the circlip on.


Then the outer race is placed over the inner, note that the thin area on the inner is place next to the wide area on the outer.


Then feed the ballbearings in one at a time a little tricky.




Once they are all in check the CV joint moves as it should.



Slide up your boot.


And put metal clips onto the boot ensuring that thay are fitted so that they will not be ripped off.

Snow yesterday





Ran in new hard brake lines. I need to put rubber protectors on them to prevent chaffing.







Also made up my aluminium arms, these will not be going on the car but will use these until my steel arms come back from the powder coaters. I will proberbly sell these.

Then waxed the exposed aluminium part and the inside of the cover as these tend to corrode.



Fitted up



and then pressed the hub in.





All done and fitted for the time being.

Very impressive John. But why not use the aluminium arms? They save a few pound and have a much better wheelbearing. One small tip. I would swap the bolds around on your swingarm (the inner ones) When the gearbox is fitted you can't take them out whem they are like this.

Mmmmmm okay it wasn't a problem on my 86 Carrera. Maybe if you use an Allen bolt?

Worst area is quite a bit south of where I am, thankfully.... pity the poor people there though
