E-mailed the guy who's flipping the SC on eBay with:
"Dear cookiemonsteralan,
How long have you owned the car? When did it start smoking? How much has it been driven since? Thank you!"

And got the reply:
"we are dealers so not long dont know how much is been driven
- cookiemonsteralan"

I can't help reading the reply with an accent like off the "meerkat.com" advert – Simples!

Aha! Now I understand why there has been a flurry of interest this week.

One chap has just been, another coming this afternoon, one tomorrow night and one next weekend.

There is still goodly room to haggle, I have an arm in plaster and the insurance is due....
